Greenhouse Challenge Plus Program

Overview

The Greenhouse challenge plus program is a cooperative partnership between the Australian Government and industries, aimed at providing a means of reducing the impact upon the environment caused by various industrial activities. The programme aims to:

  • Reduce greenhouse emissions.
  • Encourage the uptake of energy efficient technology and practices.
  • Encourage the inclusion of environmental impacts in business decisions.
  • Establish reliable reporting measures for monitoring emission levels.

At Westwools, we have made the commitment of reducing greenhouse gas emissions generated, both directly and indirectly through our manufacturing and business processes. As part of our commitment as an environmentally responsible company, we aim to bring to you a product that has been made with the potential impacts in mind. At Westwools, we have started this commitment by taking several initiatives to reduce emissions associated with the production and manufacture of our products, these include: Reengineering and design of major plant and equipment.

  • Reducing the overall amount of waste that is sent to landfill.
  • Adopting energy efficient equipment, technology and practices wherever possible.
  • Setting in place monitoring and review processes in addition to defining responsibility and accountability for usage of raw materials and services.
  • Communicating to key stakeholders and staff, our environmental performance and raising a general awareness of environmental issues.
  • Ensuring company compliance with statutory and legislative requirements.
